VALCENA PARIS ~ Natural Rose Absolute ~ Skincare Review

These products were generously sent to me for review.

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! Today I am very excited to share with you a luxurious product line that I stumbled upon at my local Winners a few months ago. I was shopping for a night cream and spotted the Valcena Paris Multi Active Regenerante Night Cream and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I have been completely obsessed with this product and very impressed with the results I've been getting.

Naturally after having such good results with the night cream I was pretty interested in trying more from this line but wasn't sure where to find them. So I contacted the company and was very generously sent products from their beautiful Natural Rose Absolute line to review. I have been using these products for about a month now and I have to say...I am completely in love with them! The beautiful packaging, high quality formulations...the Natural Rose Absolute Scent...(so divine!!!) and the way my skin looks after using them...I've been so excited to share these wonderful products with you!

So let's take a closer look at Valcena Paris Natural Rose Absolute Skincare line!

Valcena Paris is a French skincare line who's products combine pleasure and science delivering effective formulations that are a complete joy to use. Each product focuses on skin protection, nourishment, hydration, repair and cell renewal to help maintain skin health and that youthful radiant glow. The Natural Rose Absolute line envelops the senses and the high quality formulations are gentle but effective and create a spa like luxurious experience.

Each product in this line is based on the Bulgarian Rose Damascena Essence which not only smells divine but is also very beneficial for the skin. Rose Oil is known for it's softening and moisturizing properties but it's also very effective for cell renewal and rejuvenation of the skin. It's very beneficial for delicate or sensitive skins and is quite high in anti-oxidants and essential fatty acids which are essential for good skin health.

So let's start with the basics...cleansing!

We all know cleansing is so important for good skin health. Deeply cleaning the skin from oil, dirt, make up and pollution is essential. I love using a cleanser that is effective but gentle and this delicate but efficient Cleansing Milk deeply cleanses my skin without stripping it of it's natural oils and moisture. My skin feels refreshed, clean, and comfortable after using this.

This cleansing milk has a very light weight lotion consistency that deeply but gently clears the skin of toxins and impurities. It effectively removes make up and leaves the skin feeling moisturized and soft.

It's so easy to use as well. I gently massage 2-3 pumps of this cleansing milk into my skin working it around my face in a circular motion and then gently remove it with either cotton pads or a warm muslin need to rinse with water. My skin feels soft, smooth, cleansed and comfortable after using this and it (as with all the products in this line) has the most lovely delicate real natural rose scent that slightly lingers on the skin.

This Cleansing Milk is formulated with Damascena Rose Water which soothes, tones, moisturizes and stimulates cell renewal. As well as Damascena Rose Oil which is healing, rejuvenating and anti-aging, and Vitamin E and Q10 which are both potent anti-oxidants that help to fight free radical damage.

Next we will look at the Natural Rose Absolute Action Jeunesse Cream Serum. I've just recently gotten into using a serum for my skin and this one is more of a light cream/lotion consistency that absorbs instantly into the skin and doesn't leave any sticky or tacky residue behind. It also has that beautiful Natural Rose Otto scent and feels very light weight but very nourishing. It gives my skin a lovely glow.

This serum is designed for over 30 skins and it delivers rose activators that can help prevent wrinkles, skin dullness and skin dehydration. It is packed full of really amazing ingredients like Shea Butter which has a softening effect, Damascena Rose Water which helps soothe, tone and regenerate the skin. It also contains Damascena Rose Oil which is healing and rejuvenating and also anti-aging, nourishing Jojoba Oil, Hyaluronic Acid which is anti-aging and plumps up the skin, vitamin E which has anti-oxidant properties and a UV filter which adds protection.

I use this every morning right after cleansing and before the day cream.

Now for one of my favorite products! It's the Natural Rose Absolute Roller Glace Contour Eye Cream and it's pretty amazing! First...I love the packaging. The cream is housed in a glass tube with a metal roller ball that you roll over the contours of your eyes. It has an amazing cooling effect and really feels great in the morning. I find it helps reduce my morning puffiness and really hydrates the delicate skin around my eyes while adding some radiance and brightness. I use this day and night...I just can't get enough of the cooling, smoothing and soothing effect it provides.

This eye cream is clear in color and feels more like a serum than a cream to me. It has a very light weight almost water like consistency that absorbs nicely into the skin leaving no tackiness or greasy feel behind. Even though it's quite light weight I find it to be quite hydrating for my dry eye area. It also applies very easily and my eyes feel refreshed and look smoother and brighter after using this.

This product is packed with great ingredients as well. It contains Hyaluronic Acid which helps to prevent wrinkles, Creatin which stimulates the production of collagen, Damascena Rose Oil which is healing, revitalizing and anti-aging, Oliopeptides which have a lifting, firming and toning effect and Macadamia Oil which adds allot of moisture and is high in essential fatty acids.

I'm always on the lookout for a good day cream that will hydrate my skin without being too greasy or break me out. This cream is formulated for normal to dry skin so I was a little worried it might be too heavy for my oilier skin type but I was pleasantly surprised by it's light weight but nourishing texture. It absorbs quickly into the skin and makes a great base for make up. My foundation glides on effortlessly and my skin feels hydrated but not oily...even as the day wears on.

This day cream hydrates, protects, nourishes and softens the skin and the delicate Natural Rose Absolute scent lingers softly on the skin throughout the day.

This cream is loaded with lovely ingredients like Damascena Rose Oil which again is anti-aging and healing, Olive Oil which is nourishing, healing, moisturizing and strengthening, Castor Seed Oil which moisturizes and soothes the skin, Vitamin E and Vitamin B5 which have anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and healing properties and UV filters which protect the skin from free radical damage.

I have only tested this cream on the back of my hand and haven't used it on my face as it's formulated for dry to very dry skins and my skin is normal to oily. I will most likely pass this cream on to a friend or family member with very dry skin and see how they like it!

This cream has a very rich and luxurious consistency...I can see how it would be soothing and very moisturizing for very dry skins. It's packed with nourishing oils that leave the skin feeling really soft and smooth and although it's formulated for drier skin types and has a richer consistency it doesn't feel too heavy on the skin. It also absorbed pretty quickly into my skin (back of my hand) without leaving any greasy residue behind.

This day cream is loaded with rich ingredients like Shea Butter which is very nourishing and softening, Damascena Rose Oil which has anti-aging, healing and rejuvenating properties, Argan Oil which is nourishing, soothing, anti-aging and regenerating, Vitamin E which is a powerful anti-oxidant and Creatin which stimulates the production of collagen.

This is the product that I found at my local Winners months ago and what first introduced me to this line. It's definitely a favorite and I've been using it religiously every night since I picked it up! I just love the way this cream makes my skin look and feel. It has a luxurious but light weight texture that absorbs beautifully into the skin and doesn't leave any oily or heavy residue behind. It nourishes my skin and gives it a lovely healthy looking glow. I've noticed that the texture of my skin has been refined and the overall health of my skin has improved. When I wake each morning my skin looks fresh and rejuvenated and I've experienced no breakouts with this cream at all...which is rare for me!

This night cream is formulated to intensively restore the skin overnight and is perfect for sensitive skins. It's rich and luxurious ingredients revive and energize the skin creating a healthy glow and youthful radiance.

It's full of wonderful and effective ingredients like Damascena Oil which is used throughout this line and promotes youthful, healthy, revitalized skin. It has Castor and Olive Oils which help to hydrate and soften the skin, nourishing Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E which is a powerful anti-oxidant and Chamomile Extract which has soothing and calming properties.

Now for a little pampering! This product was really intriguing to me. I have used facial sheet masks before but never a compressed one in tablet form. To be honest I wasn't really sure what to do with it at first but after a little research I figured out how to use it.

Each tablet is enclosed in plastic so after removing the plastic I simply sprayed the compressed tablet with some rose water and...voila! It started to expand! I sprayed a bit more of the rose water on it to really saturate it and then opened it up completely and discovered eye, nose and mouth holes...ready to use!

I then just laid the moistened sheet mask onto my face and lined the holes up the best I could. As you can see from the picture above the holes are slightly off but could be easily cut with scissors to make the mask fit better. I left this on for 20 minutes and then just removed the mask. My skin feels so incredibly soft and so smooth after using this and it feels really hydrating and calming on my skin. A real treat to use especially in this cold winter weather!

Valcena Paris is what I look for when shopping for skincare. From the quality of ingredients they use...the well crafted formulations and the effectiveness of each product...everything I've tried feels really luxurious and is a real treat to use. My skin seems to love these products and is looking healthier, firmer and more radiant since I've been using this line exclusively.

I have always been a lover of anything with rose and this line has the Natural Rose Absolute in each product which not only adds rejuvenating and nourishing skincare benefits but also creates a wonderful pampering spa like aromatherapy experience. It's truly a beautiful line! is an easy site to navigate through and is full of interesting information about Rose it's extracted and it's amazing skincare benefits. Unfortunately (from what I can tell) this line isn't available everywhere and is more of a luxury spa line (that is also available for distribution or for retail). However if you are interested in trying/purchasing the products for yourself you can contact the company through to inquire about the them. They were really quite lovely!

I rarely find a product line where multiple products work for my skin. I usually find something that I like and then it stops working or I break out after a week or so. I've been using these products exclusively and religiously for over a month now with no breakouts and my skin health has noticeably improved. This line is gentle but effective, luxurious and a pleasure to use. I'm so thankful that I spotted the night cream all those months ago and that I was so generously given the opportunity to try so many products from this line because I truly love them! They have replaced allot of what I was using and have definitely become some of my all time skincare favorites!

Thank you so much Valcena Paris!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all well! I don't know about you but I love a good scrub! It's an important step in my skincare routine. If I don't exfoliate regularly I breakout...plain & simple! For me a scrub really clears my skin of all dirt, oil and dead skin cells that tend to build up...clogging the pores, making the skin look tired, dull and lack luster. After exfoliating my skin always looks and feels more youthful and fresh.

As much as I love exfoliating I think it's important to use the right one for your skin type. I have pretty robust skin that can handle a good exfoliating but I don't want to use anything that feels too rough or harsh. So I'm always on the look out for a product that will be effective but gentle and I think I found it!

So let's take a closer look!

I have to say I'm a huge fan of the Nuxe Skincare line. Everything I've tried so far has been really really nice. When I saw this scrub I got very excited to try another product from this wonderful line!

This exfoliator has a gel like consistency and a pleasant soft rose scent. It has large and small "scrub-y" particles within the gel that work wonderfully at smoothing and exfoliating the skin. It feels very gentle on the skin but it delivers great results. My skin feels refreshed and really clean (never dry or tight) after using this and it looks vibrant and has a healthy looking glow.

I use this scrub 3-4 times per week depending on the condition of my skin. I apply it to dry skin and work it in gently to get a good scrub going...then I add a bit of water to create more of a slip on the skin. I spend a few minutes massaging it into my skin in circular motions. It slightly lathers with the addition of water and rinses away nicely leaving the skin soft, smooth and very refreshed.

This scrub is formulated for sensitive skin and has a very delicate feel and is a real delight to use. It's formulated with 91% natural ingredients and is paraben free. The scrub particles are from Lychee powder & shells. Using this exfoliator regularly keeps my skin clear, balanced and looking fresh and healthy! Wonderful product!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all feeling fabulous! Today I will be reviewing a mascara that I have been really loving lately. It's the YSL Faux Cils Volume Effet Mascara and it's such a nice product! I received a small sample size of this not long ago and absolutely loved the way it made my lashes look. So as soon as my sample ran out I was back in Sephora to pick up the full size!

I usually opt for drugstore mascaras as they are more affordable and deliver great results but after using the sample of this mascara I loved the look so much that I thought I'd splurge and go for a bit of luxury this time around.

So lets's take a closer look!

So let's start with the packaging. It's you would expect from a luxury brand. It comes in a super shiny golden tube with the YSL logo imprinted on it. The only thing I'm not a huge fan of is the "baby doll" written down the side in red. It kind of ruins the whole "luxurious" look for me...not that it really matters (just being picky). The mascara formulation and brush are what's REALLY important and I have to give a big thumbs up for both!

The wand is nice and long...I really love long wands. I feel like I have allot more control when applying with a longer wand and can get into those smaller hard to reach areas without getting mascara all over my skin. Another bonus is that when you pull the wand from the tube the perfect amount of mascara is on the brush. I really dislike when a brush comes out of the tube and it's loaded with too much much that you need to wipe some off before applying. This one is great!

The brush itself is a synthetic/plastic spike-y type brush with short bristles. It really is easy to use and seems to grab all my lashes (long & short) separating them and coating them evenly. I have always preferred natural "bush-y" fuller mascara brushes as I always thought they provided more volume and just grabbed my lashes better...but this one delivers close to the same look with the synthetic brush. It combs out the lashes giving them a feather-y look while providing some volume and length.

In the picture above you can kind of see how flutter-y and feather-y this mascara makes the lashes. It gives nice separation with a clump free smooth and even application. It adds some volume and delivers some length as well. The color "Fetish Black" isn't the blackest black but it's quite dark and gives nice definition. After applying my eyes are framed with lovely long and wispy lashes that really do have a "doll eyed" effect. It also has a nice floral scent as opposed to a chemical scent which makes it quite pleasant to use.

Overall I love this mascara. It applies evenly and smoothly without any clumps. It doesn't flake, fade or smudge throughout the day and it makes my lashes look feather-y...long and gives some volume. Also it doesn't make my lashes stiff or brittle feeling...they have definition but still feel somewhat soft to the touch. It has a pleasant scent and frames the eyes with soft flutter-y lashes! Great mascara!

Hello lovelies! Today I will be reviewing a staple in my skin care routine. It's Avene's Thermal Water Spray and it's truly an amazing product. I have been using this spray for years and can't be without it! It's the perfect pick me up for tired lack luster skin and it feels so refreshing...especially in warmer weather. I use it day and night and love the way it makes my skin feel.

So let's take a closer look at this wonderful product!

When I first saw this product years ago...I thought it was a complete waste of money. Water in a can? How silly! How wrong I was! I remember getting a small can as a gift with purchase shortly after and immediately after the first use...fell in love! I have been using it religiously ever since. I cannot be without this spray. It is so versatile and makes my skin look more healthy and radiant.

Avene's Thermal Spring Water Spray is infused with trace elements and silicates creating a perfect balance of minerals that are very beneficial for maintaining healthy skin. This blend is ideal for sensitive/intolerant skins and delivers soothing, restoring and healing results. It has a balancing effect on the skin and can be used in so many different ways.

I like to use this spray morning and night as my toner. After cleansing I simply spray my entire face and neck area with this and allow it to dry for a few moments before applying my moisturizer. It instantly refreshes and revitalizes the skin always feels balanced and toned after using this.

I also use this spray as a "setting spray" or "finishing spray" over my make up. It works wonderfully at setting your make up and it makes your foundation look more natural and "skin like". Especially if you're wearing powder foundation or a mineral powder that can sometimes look chalky or too "powdery"...this spray corrects that and makes the powder become one with the skin.

I also like to keep a bottle of this in the fridge during the Summer and throughout the day spritz myself to freshen up. It's so cooling and refreshing and it's a wonderful pick me up during hot and humid weather.

This product is also great if you've spent too much time out in the sun and have gotten a little burn. It's very cooling and healing and helps soothe the skin. It's also great for razor burn after shaving or after waxing to help soothe and calm the skin. Because of the high mineral content and soothing benefits...this spray may also aid in the relief of psoriasis and dermatitis.

This product is my "holy grail" skin care product. It has improved the texture, tone and overall health of my skin. I also find that it works great for breakouts. It seems to calm the redness and inflammation down and helps heal the skin. Such an amazing product! Highly recommend!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! Today I wanted to review a new lippie that I picked up the other day. It's the lovely "Role Play" Lip Gel from Marc Jacobs and it has quickly become my perfect "go to" shade for effortless chic everyday wear. This lipstick is absolute perfection...everything from the packaging...formulation to the shade. I'm loving it!

So let's take a closer look at this little lovely!

So let's start with the packaging. It's sleek and minimal which I really like. It has a nice weight to it and feels substantial in the hand. The neat thing about the case is that it has a magnetized closure so when you put the cap on it snaps into place and feels quite secure.

The formula is not like a traditional lipstick. It's a lip "gel" which has a cushy/jelly cream consistency that is really comfortable on. It feels plush, silky and lightweight and is quite moisturizing as well.

I would describe the color as a neutral dusty rose/pink/nude that is so flattering and really feminine. It has great pigmentation and is quite long lasting. One swipe gives lovely smooth hydrating coverage that lasts (on me) for approximately 3-4 hours.

Role Play is such a great color for everyday wear or if you are (like me) a lover of nudes. It has just the right amount of color to add some brightness to the face without washing you out. It's a soft, feminine and classic color that adds a touch of sophistication to your look.

I absolutely love the way this lippie feels on. It's super smooth and wraps your lips in creamy lightweight saturated color. It has a slight sheen which adds a touch of freshness and youthfulness to the finish. I find it wears away very evenly (after 3-4 hours) and doesn't settle into or accentuate the lines in my lips. It has a slight vanilla scent that is quite pleasant and is a real joy to apply. I will definitely be going back for more! Love it!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all well! Today I wanted to review a super fun and playful lipstick that I purchased a while ago and have just recently been really enjoying and using quite a bit. It's MAC's Vegas Volt and it's such a lovely bright pop of color...perfect for Spring/Summer time wear!

So let's take a closer look at this bright beauty!

Vegas Volt comes in an "Amplified" finish which has a creamy and smooth feel when applied. It hugs the lips with creamy comfort and I find it doesn't dry out my lips. It also wears well...I can get approximately 3-4 hours before I feel the need to re-apply.

As you can see in the swatch pictures above...this lippie is very opaque and has great pigmentation. With just one swipe it gives amazing vibrancy and creamy even coverage.

I love this shade because it's very versatile. I find that if applied lightly it has a beautiful soft coral quality and when applied full on you get that dramatic intense beautiful "over the top" bright orange tone...both (I think) look amazing on warmer skin tones.

Being a lover of nudes and natural "my lips but better" shades I tend to apply this lipstick with a light hand. I usually just dab it on until I build up to the color that I want...which is usually a soft coral shade. I love how this shade brightens up my face and adds a touch of playfulness to an other wise simple look. It's such a Summer-y color that looks festive and fun!

In these next pictures I tried to capture the vibrancy of this shade. Dabbed on gently (above) it takes on a really pretty soft coral-y tone and worn full on (below) it looks more like a vibrant coral-y/orange shade. Either way it's lovely and such a fun pop of color!

I usually pair this lipstick with a simple defined eye...peachy cheeks and a touch of bronzer. It just reminds me of Summer and looks amazing on tanned glow-y skin. I've also used this lippie as a cream blush. It adds a lovely flush of color to the cheeks and works great if you are in a rush! A few dots to the apples of the cheeks...a little dabbed onto the lips and a black bit of mascara and you're all set!

Overall this lipstick is great if you want a nice vibrant pop of color that can be worn full on or dabbed on for a softer look. It has nice creamy highly pigmented coverage that applies smoothly and evenly and it doesn't dry out the lips! Highly recommend Vegas Volt for a fun Summer-y look!

Hello lovelies! Today I will be reviewing a lovely cleanser I've been using recently with great results. It's the Boots N0 7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser for normal to oily skins and it has really become a favorite especially for Spring/Summer when my skin is especially oily.

As I mentioned skin is quite oily and I'm always on the look out for something that will cleanse thoroughly without stripping or making my skin feel dry. Allot of "oily skin" cleansing products that I have used in the past have always been too harsh and leave my skin feeling uncomfortable and tight. This cleanser has been working's super gentle but very effective!

So let's take a closer look!

This cleanser has a gentle soap free formula that is formulated to gently cleanse and purify normal to oily complexions. It removes make up, dirt, oil and grime without stripping the skin or leaving any dryness. It has a toning effect on the skin as helps make pores look slightly less noticeable and leaves the skin feeling super smooth, soft and refreshed.

This product looks like a liquid but comes out as a foam and has a nice creamy consistency when massaged into the skin. Also a little goes a long way with this cleanser. I find one pump does the trick and removes all my make up easily.

This cleanser also has a scent which could be a problem for some. I usually try to stay away from skin care products that have a scent as they can sometimes aggravate or irritate the skin. This one seems to be okay (for me so far). I haven't had any adverse reactions or breakouts with this...even with the scent. I would describe the scent as a pleasant "cosmetic" smell that isn't too overwhelming and seems to fade within 10-15 minutes after using.

This product has a multi-vitamin and mineral blend in it's formulation that will help hydrate, nourish and energize the skin. It's also enriched with zinc which is great for oil control and regulating/balancing the skin.

I find that my skin feels refreshed, comfortable and deeply cleansed after using this cleansing foam and it seems to cut down on my shine/oiliness for a few hours after using. My pores look slightly minimized and my skin overall looks firmer and more toned without feeling dry or tight.

I also find that while I'm massaging this cleanser into my skin it has a nice slip to it and it glides over the skin and is very silky feeling. It rinses away effortlessly and really does a great job at removing all my make up including my eye make up.

I've been using this product morning and night and my skin feels clean, fresh, more balanced and toned. Great cleanser!

Hello beauties! Hope you are all feeling fabulous! Today I have lipstick review for you and it's on another great color that I recently got from the "Back To MAC" recycling program. If your not familiar with their recycling bring in 6 empties and get to pick out a lipstick! How great is that?!

The lipstick I chose was "Creme In Your Coffee" which is a beautiful, sultry, versatile and wearable shade that I've had my eye on for awhile. It's perfect for everyday or evening wear and because of it's creamy finish it's a delight to wear!

So let's take a closer look at this lovely lippie!

"Creme In Your Coffee" comes in MAC's signature black and silver lipstick bullet style tube which is sleek and sturdy. It also has the signature MAC "vanilla" scent.

The finish of this lipstick is a cremesheen. Which has a rich and creamy and very smooth consistency. It glides on and wraps your lips in creamy comfort.

This shade is described by MAC as a mid-toned pink brown. I love those types of shades as they look really natural on the lips...almost a "my lips but better" shade.

As you can see from the picture above the pigmentation and coverage of this lipstick is pretty great. This is one swipe and it has smooth even coverage and amazing color payoff.

Creme In Your Coffee a great shade for everyday wear as it enhances your natural lip color and looks quite natural on. I like to dab it on for a sheer wash of color or for more drama I wear it full on. It has such great pigmentation...a little goes a long way with this one.

I find this lippe really comfortable to wear. It's creamy and feels moisturizing on...I don't seem to have any uncomfortable dryness when I wear this. It wears well...I can get about 3 hours wear from this before I feel the need to re-apply. As it wears off it becomes more of a stain and your lips have a soft tint of color which I really like the look of.

As you can see in these next few pictures the color is really lovely and (I think) quite flattering for most skin tones. It has just enough pink in it to make it pretty and feminine and just enough brown to give this shade some depth and definition.

"Creme in Your Coffee" is what I like to call an "amplified nude" shade...which has a natural nude quality about it but has enough color to add some life and brightness to the face. It's a soft flush of natural color that has a sophisticated and classic feel to it.

Overall "Creme In Your Coffee" is a beautiful shade that gives you that "my lips but better" look. It has a lovely creamy and smooth consistency...applies evenly and delivers amazing pigmentation. It's comfortable to wear and doesn't dry out the lips. It also wears quite well...I can get approximately 3 hours wear from it before it fades and I need to re-apply. It's a versatile color that can be dabbed on for a subtle look or worn "full on" for more of a dramatic look. Lovely lipstick!

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well! Today I will be talking about a powder foundation that I have been really loving lately. It's MAC's Studio Fix Powder Foundation and it's such a great product...especially if you don't like to use liquid bases or you're looking for something that feels lightweight but gives great coverage.

I have super oily skin that is really hard to control especially in the hot I tend to gravitate more towards powders rather than liquids in the summer time. This powder is really effective as it gives decent coverage...helps control oil and gives the skin a flawless look without much effort.

So let's take a closer look!

This powder comes in the signature sleek and sturdy MAC compact that houses a good sized mirror which makes touch ups easy. It also comes with an application sponge that is in a compartment underneath the foundation.

As you can see this powder is well loved! I've been using it quite a bit since the weather has gotten really hot and humid. Sometimes I use it alone with a little concealer or as a setting powder over my favorite BB cream from Stila.

The texture of this powder foundation is a little heavier than your typical powder as it is a "foundation" and does provide a substantial amount of coverage. It has a smooth finely milled texture and an almost creamy consistency that applies very evenly giving your skin a perfected look that isn't cake-y or chalky.

You can kind of see the rich consistency of this powder in the picture above. This is one swipe and it has pretty good coverage. This product is gives light to medium coverage depending on application. It also works well as a setting powder. As I mentioned earlier...I've been using it to set my Stila BB Cream which helps control shine and gives me a touch more coverage.

MAC Studio Fix applies effortlessly. I usually use a large powder brush to apply it if I want lighter coverage or I'll use a Kabuki brush and buff it into my skin building it up for more of a medium coverage. It evens out my skin tone, smooths out imperfections and helps control shine. It also doesn't oxidize or separate on my oily skin after application. It actuality looks better as it wears throughout the day. It warms to the skin and almost becomes one with the skin giving you a really natural look.

For me this product lasts pretty well on my oily skin. I can go most of the day without feeling like I need to touch up. I do however sometimes blot my skin with a blotting sheet or tissue as I tend to get slightly oily about mid afternoon but I generally do that no matter what base I'm wearing.

I've also had no problems with breakouts using this powder. It has no scent that I can detect and it doesn't seem to aggravate or irritate my skin.

Overall I really love this powder foundation. It's easy to use, quick to apply...goes on smoothly and evenly, has great pigmentation and provides light to medium coverage. It perfects the skin without looking too heavy, chalky or cake-y and has pretty good staying power even on oily skin. It hasn't broken me out and is great for oil control. It can be used alone with concealer or over a liquid base to set it or for more coverage. Love it!

YSL ROUGE VOLUPTE ~ Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick #3 Ultimate Beige

Hello beauties! Hope you are all feeling fabulous! I have yet another lipstick review for you today...seriously I have a problem! Haha! I have been on a lippie binge lately and have a few more fabulous shades that I want to share with you so hopefully you're not too sick of seeing them!

Today I will be talking about the most gorgeous lipstick I have ever seen or owned! It's the utterly luxurious YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick and it looks like a piece of exquisite jewelry...its just so beautiful!

I've been dying to get one of these but I was never 100% sure about which color to go for (ordering online) and because they are more on the pricey side I didn't want to choose something that wouldn't look good on me. So now that we have a Sephora nearby (YAY!!!!) I was able to go and see first hand which colors were more flattering for my skin tone...which was so much fun!

So let's take a closer look at this amazing lipstick!

Okay we have to start with the is beyond beautiful! It comes in a lovely golden box and inside is the most luxurious tube of lipstick I have ever seen. It's a golden metal tube that feels very substantial in your hands.

It looks like something a glamorous Old Hollywood actress would have on her vanity...Lana Turner, Grace Kelly, Veronica Lake...Marilyn Monroe to name a few of my favorites! Such a treat!

Now let's move onto the texture and consistency of this lipstick. It's very silky, smooth and buttery. It almost melts into your lips and feels so soft and comfortable on. It glides on effortlessly and has smooth and even coverage. It's possibly the best feeling lipstick I've ever tried. It wraps my lips in rich and creamy color that has a lovely sheen to it.

I would describe the color of Ultimate Beige as a beautiful caramel/nude with hints of pink and peach...depending on the light. Let me explain. In some light (on me) it looks like a mid tone caramel/ brighter light it tends to look like more of a pink-y/nude shade (on me)...and sometimes it takes on more of a peachy/nude shade...this one is a chameleon!'s a beautiful color! It's another one of those "wearable" shades that gives your lips that "my lips but better" look. It's a great color for a fuss free everyday look that just looks polished and put together but never over the top.

I think this shade would be flattering for most skin tones as it adds some brightness to the face and a soft flush of natural color to the lips.

The pigmentation is really great on this lipstick. It's rich and has great swipe gives a substantial amount of color.

Because of it's pigmentation and rich and creamy texture this lipstick can feel a little heavy on the lips if applied with a heavy hand. I usually apply one swipe top and bottom for a softer look or I just dab it on for an even softer look.

In the pictures above you can see how pretty this color is. It has a soft sheen which is really nice especially if you're not a fan of lipsticks that can sometimes look flat or matte on the lips. I think the sheen adds some youthfulness and some freshness to the face.

Unfortunately it's not very long lasting. I can get about 1-2 hours wear from Ultimate Beige. I find that after that the sheen wears away and I'm left with more of a stain finish which I kind of like...or I need to apply more to refresh my look. I find this lipstick to be very moisturizing and comfortable to wear and because of it's rich pigmentation a little goes a long way when you first apply it.

Overall this is a very lovely lipstick not only the packaging but the actual product inside. It's luxurious, glamorous and it really is a treat to use. The color is so nice for everyday and perfect if you want something that will add a soft natural flush of color but is still subtle and delicate looking on the lips. It's has an amazing rich and creamy texture and feels so nice on. It's classy, sophisticated and oh so beautiful!

MAC "TWIG" LIPSTICK ~ Satin Finish

Hello lovelies! Hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I have another lipstick review for you...can you tell I have a slight obsession with lip products? Ha! I've really been into lipsticks lately and have been trying to chose shades that are classic and wearable and that really flatter my skin tone. Twig is definitely one of those shades!

Whenever I think of a great shade for everyday wear I always think of pink-y brown colors...I just think they are super flattering and so easy to wear for so many skin tones!

So let's take a closer look at Twig!

MAC "TWIG" LIPSTICK (satin finish)

Twig is described as a soft muted brownish-pink and is in a satin finish. The satin finish gives this lippie more staying power in my opinion. I can get approximately 4-5 hours wear before I feel the need to reapply. It's quite opaque and really wraps your lips in super rich highly pigmented color.

It can feel a tad drying as the day goes on...I would recommend using a lip balm underneath this one. Also this lipstick has a very rich and creamy consistency which is great but I find that if I apply too much it has a tendency to look slightly cake-y or too thick on my lips. So I usually just dab this one on which creates a lovely stain like appearance or if I want a bit more coverage I will just apply one swipe top and bottom and that seems to give pretty substantial coverage.

This is one can see how great the pigmentation is and how consistent and smooth the coverage is.

Twig is a medium pink/brown...I actually think it looks slightly rose-y depending on the light. When I wear tends to pull more of a rose/brown in darker lighting and in brighter lighting it pulls more pink-y/brown on me.

Twig is a very flattering and wearable shade for most skin tones but especially for darker ones. I think it compliments darker skin beautifully! It almost has that "my lips but better" look and it really adds some brightness to the face. I feel like it's quite a sophisticated and feminine looks classic and polished without looking over the top. It's looks lovely with a simple defined eye & rose-y cheeks...that's how I love to wear it!

In these next pics you can see how pretty and wearable this shade is. It's a great "go to" color for a fuss free everyday look. It has enough color to brighten up the face but it's not too dark/harsh or severe looking.

The lighting is a little bright in the pics above and you can see that the color is pulling more of a pink-y/brown as opposed to a rose-y brown like it would in darker lighting.

Here you can kind of see more of the rose-y brown coming through.

Overall Twig is a great choice if you are looking for a classic wearable and feminine color for everyday. It's creamy and somewhat long lasting...(although I do find it slightly drying) and it has great color payoff. It's a beautiful color for most skin tones especially darker skin tones and it adds a subtle sophistication to your look. It's a lovely easy to wear color that can be dabbed on for a softer stain like appearance or worn full on for more of a classic polished look. Love it!
