FACE OF THE DAY ~ Using RMS Beauty, Tarte & Burt's Bees

Hello everyone! Hope you're having a great day! Today's post is a FOTD featuring some natural products from RMS Beauty, Tarte and Burt's Bees. I don't have a whole lot of time to get ready in the morning so I like to keep things simple. As you may know I've been trying to use more natural products that deliver results and that are easy to use. I think (for now) I've found a good line up of things that are working well and that are giving me the look(s) I'm going for.

My "everyday" face is pretty basic. I try to keep my make up as natural looking as possible enhancing my features rather than masking them.

So let's take a look at the products I used!

For a more in depth review/swatches of the RMS products used in today's post click here!

"UN" COVER UP 22: I use this amazing little product as my foundation & concealer. I apply it with my fingers concentrating on the areas that I need coverage. Usually around my eyes, nose, mouth and on some old acne scars and hyper pigmentation that I have on my cheeks.

TINTED "UN" POWDER 2-3: I typically use this powder at the end of my make up routine after I've applied all the cream based products to set everything in place. It has a slight tint that adds just a touch of coverage and it blurs out pores & imperfections and keeps the skin matte without making it look dull or flat. I apply this powder all over my face with a big fluffy brush.

BURITI BRONZER: Once I've applied my base (the "Un Cover Up") and evened out my skin tone I add a little bronzer to my forehead and cheeks...basically anywhere the sun would naturally hit my face. I use my fingers to apply this and to blend it into my skin.

MASTER MIXER: Now for the highlight. Again I use my fingers and apply this soft rose/gold luminizer to the high points of my my cheekbones, the inner corners of my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, my cupids bow and brow bones.

Now onto my favorites...cheeks & lips!

RMS LIP 2 CHEEK IN "PROMISE": For a pop of color and a youthful flush I used "Promise" which is a peachy/apricot/salmon shade with a touch of gold to the apples of my cheeks and I also added a bit of it to my lips. I applied and blended this in with my fingers.

RMS LIP SHINE IN "BLOOM" & BURT'S BEES LIP SHIMMER IN "CARAMEL": I then added a bit of the sheer peachy pink lip shine to my lips and finished with a touch of the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer in "Caramel" to add some depth & sheen.

Last but not least I used this beautiful palette from Tarte to finish up my look. For my eyes I used the 3 shades from the top row of shadows and the 1st shade from the second row of shadows.

1. For a base I used the the 1st shade top row all over my lids.

2. For my crease I used the 1st shade 2nd row to add some depth and dimension to my eyes.

3. I then added a bit of the middle shade 1st row to the outer lid areas of my eyes and blended it out softly & into the crease color.

4. I used the 3rd matte dark brown shade in the 1st row as a liner on my top and bottom lash lines and then blended it out softly with a Q-tip to create soft and natural looking definition. I finished the eyes with some dark brown liner on my water line and a few coats of black mascara.

To complete the look I dusted a touch of the blush color on the apples of my cheeks to make them pop a bit more. I then set everything with the RMS Tinted "Un" Powder and that's it! A quick & easy daytime look that enhances your features without being too much or overdone.

You really can achieve any look...get the coverage and finish you like using products that are free from harsh chemicals (RMS in particular). I also love that the make up I'm now using is beneficial and healthy for my skin and is actually improving it's condition!

BURT'S BEES LIP SHIMMERS ~ Review & Swatches

Hello everyone! Hope all is well! Today I'll be talking about the fantastic Lip Shimmers from Burt's Bees. These little gems have been around awhile but I have just recently given them a good try and I absolutely love them! I have 5 shades that I will be reviewing today ranging from an everyday nude to a rich, deep and dramatic plum.

I was really surprised to see how pigmented these Lip Shimmers are...especially the deeper shades. They glide on easily and are somewhat build-able. They have a slight peppermint scent and flavor and provide a cooling sensation on the lips. I find them to be quite moisturizing and very comfortable to wear. Some of these Shimmers are more "shimmery" than others. We'll look at them individually in the pictures that follow.

The wear time on these differs. The lighter shades tend to fade on me after a few hours but the deeper/darker shades tend to stick around a bit longer.

So let's take a closer look!

Okay...I'm starting with this deep, dark and vamp-y one because it's my favorite! I was really shocked at how pigmented this one was. It goes on smoothly and can be worn as a light stain for a softer look or built up for a more dramatic look.

"Plum" is one of the Lip Shimmers that isn't overly shimmery or frosty looking...which I love. It has the perfect amount of shine/shimmer to give your lips some dimension.  Love it!

Cherry is a gorgeous bright red that tends to pull more like a red/coral on my lips. It's very moisturizing, applies smoothly and evenly to the lips and is build-able. This one, like "Plum" isn't overly shimmery. It has just enough to add some depth to the lips and make them pop. It's really pretty!

Now for "Fig" which I would describe as a "your lips but better" shade. It's really natural looking and can be worn as a sheer wash of color or built up for a deeper look. This shade is a very wearable pink/brown/mauve-y tone that looks quite natural and I think would be very flattering for most skin tones. I tend to grab for this one allot because it slightly enhances my natural lip color and it's a great color for everyday wear!

So now for the lighter shades...which you may be able to tell from the photos above that they are both VERY shimmery...borderline frosty. The shimmer in these two tends to look a little dry on the lips and unfortunately accentuates lines.

Regardless, I do still like them but prefer to use them as a "topper" to other lipsticks to add some shine or I pop a gloss over top of them to tone down the frosty look a bit.

"Caramel" is a beige/caramel/nude color & "Watermelon" is a dusty/pink/mauve shade.

Overall I'm a huge fan of these Lip Shimmers. They all glide on smoothly and evenly and the color payoff is pretty great. The minty flavor/smell is pleasant and they are all natural which is a bonus! My only gripe is the overly frosty finish of the last two shown..."Caramel" & "Watermelon". But like I mentioned before layering them with other products corrects that.

COCONUT OIL Saved My Hair!

Hello everyone! Hope you're well! So today I wanted to talk about the amazing Coconut Oil and how it's pretty much transformed the condition of my hair. Before I started my journey to using more natural beauty products I had an army of hair lotions and potions stationed in my bathroom. There was a bottle for all my hair to tame frizz, one to repair split ends, add shine, add volume etc. etc.

These products worked fine for awhile but "underneath it all" my hair was not in very good shape. It was dry, brittle, coarse, unruly, dull and lifeless. Every morning I would pile on product after product not even thinking that maybe all those chemicals, fragrances & dyes were actually the culprits!

So I started using more natural shampoos and conditioners which helped but I really needed something ultra nourishing, repairing and healing for my hair. That's when I started using Coconut Oil routinely and I saw amazing changes in the overall health and condition of my hair.

I have been using Coconut Oil routinely once per week (usually on a Sunday) for about 3 months now. I put on an old shirt and saturate my scalp and hair with the oil. I really take some time and give myself a good head massage really stimulating my scalp with the pads of my fingers and getting the blood flowing. I also make sure to work the oil into every strand from root to tip.

I then put my hair up with a hair claw/clip and take a plastic grocery bag and put that over my hair (so attractive!) and secure it so that the heat from my head is trapped in the bag and warms the oil helping it penetrate more deeply. I leave this on for at least 2 hours or more (if possible) before washing. (overnight is great if you can)

I swear after 3 months of doing this weekly my hair is thicker, definitely shinier, softer and not as frizzy, it has more volume and my ends are no longer split and ratty looking. My scalp is also healthier. It's no longer dry and tight or itchy. Before I started doing this treatment every time I would wash my hair quite a bit of it would fall out which always freaked me out. Hair oiling with coconut Oil has diminished that as well!

Coconut Oil is loaded with nourishing vitamins and minerals and it also has natural antimicrobial properties. It's rich in lauric acid which is a medium chain fatty acid that can strengthen hair structure and moisturizes dry, tight, itchy scalps.

It's important to use Organic Virgin Coconut Oil because it hasn't been refined or stripped of all it's valuable nutrients and it smells amazing as well!

Coconut Oil is probably the most used and most versatile "beauty/health product" that I have in my house. I not only use it for my hair but it's also great as a body moisturizer, shaving "cream" substitute, a facial cleanser/make up remover and also a frizz tamer for fly away hairs.

I also use it to cook and spread it on my toast instead of butter. The list goes on and on of all the amazing ways you can use this incredible oil!

I hope you enjoyed and thanks so much for reading!

Hello everyone! Hope you are well! Today I have a review for you on the Sigma E39 Buff & Blend BrushBelieve it or not this is my first time using a Sigma brush! I have always been curious about the brand but have never tried them. So when I was contacted by to try one out I was very excited!

I'm not a pro when it comes to eye shadow application so I really like to use good quality brushes to help me achieve my look. We all know that blending is super important and good tools really do make all the difference!

I've been using this brush every morning for about a week now and these are my thoughts!

I really like the design of this brush. It's lightweight and feels like it's well made. The smooth wooden handle is comfortable to hold and is durable and scratch resistant due to multiple layers of paint applied. The metal ferrule feels like it's attached very securely to the wooden handle.

Overall this brush has a nice sleek minimal look and a very nice quality feel.

I really like how the name of the brush is clearly written on the handle.

The bristles of this brush are very soft and gentle on the skin. They are packed quite densely and are rounded which allows the brush to perform in multiples ways. The densely packed fibers make this brush great for precise application and packing on color. The rounded top blends eye shadows out softly and diffuses any harsh lines.

This brush is made with synthetic fibers and can be used with powders or cream products. The fibers are antibacterial and hypoallergenic and they feel like they will maintain their shape and structure over time and multiple washing.

I really enjoyed how soft the bristles felt on my eyes and how easy it was to apply and blend out my shadows.

The E39 is a great brush if you are looking for a good quality multitasking tool that is affordable. It can be used for precise application of color or used to apply & blend color to the crease and outer lid areas. It's great for blending out harsh lines, adding highlight to specific areas or just deepening up the crease. Very versatile!

Overall I really enjoy using this brush. It feels well made, it's affordable and can be used to achieve a variety of looks. I love how soft the bristles are and how great this brush performs. I will definitely be checking out more from this brand!
